In addition to boarding cats, Happy Cat offers a complete grooming service for both cats and dogs. The fully equipped grooming parlour caters for all breeds of cats and dogs offering services from bathing, brushing, hand stripping, de-matting, clipping and nail clipping.The grooming service is available for your cat to be pampered during their stay at the cattery, or for all cats and dogs by separate appointment. 

With a well established reputation for animal care, Happy Cat grooming parlour is an obvious and reassuring choice for pet owners, with the focus very much on individual care and attention. The welfare of animals is the prime concern, so we try to avoid having cats and dogs in together or more than one animal in at the same time, which minimises stress on your pet and ensures they get our full attention.Please note though,there are times when there is a slight overlap from collection and drop off. 

As we work under strict hygiene conditions all equipment is cleaned and sterilised between sessions. Owners will be advised of any pet showing signs of fleas, and if appropriate an anti flea shampoo will be used. Flea treatments and flea sprays (for bedding) are also available from the grooming parlour. 

We use only specific shampoos designed for cats and dogs. Our shampoos for dogs contain natural ingredients for example oatmeal & honey, aloe vera, seaweed & cucumber, and evening primrose oil and for cats pure royal jelly and lavender.

Happy Cat’s facilities allow you to leave your pet to be pampered. Your cat or dog, after grooming, can relax in comfortably spacious pens rather than having to wait in their carry case until you are able to collect them. Should you want to stay with your pet during their pampering time, tea and coffee making facilities are available and you can view your pet through the observation window whilst they are with the groomer. 

Although Happy Cat only do full boarding for cats, dog owners can treat their canine friend to a full day’s pampering including 2 walks and play time. This facility is available from 8.30am to 5.30pm. Please note that as we are not a boarding kennel this service is only available with one of our grooming packages.

Cattery customers can benefit from a 10% discount to all cats groomed during their stay in the cattery, or a free groom for all cats boarding for 21 days or more. We have a loyalty system whereby every 7th booking is half price for all cats and dogs. We give a discount to all rescue centres and fosterers and a free groom each week to one of the many dogs rescued by Yorkshire Dog Rescue, Yorkshire Rose Dog Rescue, and Springfield Dog Rescue. We also offer a microchipping service for both cats and dogs.

Please call if you would like either more information, to make an appointment or to discuss with our resident groomer any specific requirements or concerns. As with the boarding facility the Grooming Parlour is open to inspection, but by appointment only. (Inspection is not available whilst grooming is in progress for safety reasons, however it is possible to ‘observe’ through the large viewing windows).

Doggy Day Care

We offer a doggy day care service. Your dog will be taken on two walks on our own land of 15 acres. They will be pampered in the grooming parlour and if allowed will be given lunch or treats. You can drop off any time from 8.30 in the morning and collected anytime up to 5.30 in the evening. (Times to be arranged at time of booking).

£15.00 + the cost of the full groom applicable to breed
